Illustrated trail map through London's Hyde Park for the Royal Lancaster London
Five star London hotel, the 'Royal Lancaster London' commissioned me to create a map illustrating the route from their hotel to the Natural History Museum through London's Hyde Park & Kensington Gardens as part of the launch of their new afternoon tea. The map is to be included in the afternoon tea menu, encouraging guests to take a stroll through the park to the Natural History Museum after enjoying their tea.
The theme for the afternoon tea is 'Pollinators' and so the map is filled with the butterflies, bees, moths and other flying wildlife native to the park. The map features interesting highlights along the route such as the fantastic Diana Memorial Playground (located in Kensington Gardens), Kensington Garden allotments, the Serpentine and Tyburn Wildflower Meadow.
'It was a pleasure working with Katherine on an illustrated map for our new afternoon tea partnership with the Natural History Museum. Not only are Katherine’s illustrations beautiful, but communication throughout the project was consistent and clear, and her suggestions were excellent and helped improve the overall design. Our guests have loved using the map to find their way through Hyde Park from the hotel to the museum – it’s a great addition to the afternoon tea experience!'
