Hello! my name's Katherine, I'm an illustrator from London now based in Berlin

Specialising in hand drawn maps, lifestyle and travel illustrations, I bring my distinctive, quirky style to all my commissions. My work is colourful, playful and always packed full of detail.

I discovered my love of drawing while studying to be an architect. A graduate of the Bartlett School and the Royal College of Art, my architectural background is still evident in my intricate style and detailed cityscapes.

My sunny studio overlooking the trees is one of my favourite places to be, and when I'm not here you can find me wild swimming in one of Berlin's many lakes, exploring the city on my bike or back in England for a visit.

I work with a variety of clients, from universities to NGOs, to commercial businesses and private clients.

I sell prints of my illustrated maps from a number of shops in London, Berlin and Dorset and also my online shop, Etsy store and at Not On The Highstreet.

I am a member of the Association of Illustrators, and Hire an Illustrator.

Testimonials

"We couldn't be happier with the hand llustrated map Katherine produced for us. As the project is multifaceted, we presented Katherine with a really complex brief and lots of different ideas that she was able to pull together into one awesome, cohesive design that really captured the tone we were aiming for. Throughout, Katherine was really responsive to our suggestions and ideas, as well as producing solutions that really tied the project together. She was an absolute joy to work with, her vision, talent, and unwavering patience throughout the process made the whole project really enjoyable. Feedback from colleagues at the University has been hugely positive, with many noting the fun smaller elements as well as the key icons (the ducks in bowler hats are a particular crowd pleaser). Katherine's created a beautiful centrepiece for a tool that I hope prospective students will enjoy for years to come"

"My family and I wanted to give my grandparents something truly personal to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. We came across Katherine on Etsy and loved her illustrations- but saw that she wasn’t currently taking commissions as she was travelling. However when we reached out, Katherine was so accommodating and allowed us to ‘prebook’ for when she was back, which was so kind of her! She went above and beyond at every interval- even sourcing a new framer who could deliver in time even with the Covid restrictions that were in place. She worked really closely with us to get a real feel for who we were as a family, and paid such attention to detail that when I saw the finished result, I was brought to tears. She’d captured everything so perfectly! Each time I look at the picture, I find another thoughtful detail. The whole family loved it- but especially my Grandparents. I can’t recommend Katherine highly enough!"

"It was such a privilege and pleasure to work with Katherine on this commission for my dad’s retirement! My three siblings and I so appreciated her heart for collaborating on the personal stories we wanted this piece to share. Her work brought family memories to life with such energy, colour, and thoughtful attention to detail. She gave such care to reflecting the highlights of our dad’s 33 year career building submarines - while simultaneously building a beautiful life for our family that we wanted to celebrate. Katherine, thank you for helping us to communicate that love and gratitude! We could not more highly recommend working with you on these beautiful lifelong keepsakes."

Marisa Moody

"The whole team was delighted with the outcome of the SOAS Gems illustrated Map project. Katherine was a joy to work with and her unique style really struck a chord with our students and professors at the University alike. Throughout the project Katherine was excellent at communicating and consistently came up with creative solutions to our ever-evolving brief . The response  to the project on social media has been astounding and we would definitely work with Katherine again on future projects"

Jack Neenan, Marketing Manager, SOAS, University of London

"When I first saw the artwork that Katherine created for us, I was completely lost for words and very nearly started crying. It is a very beautiful thing, so incredibly personal, which is something at the outset I really had not envisaged. We have it framed in our restaurant and have printed a black and white version for children to colour in at the tables, which is extremely popular! We are absolutely thrilled - thank you so much"
